International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) And HARMAN Professional Solutions Launch Voice-Enabled Cognitive Rooms

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) Could See Notable Dynamics In 2017

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM), which failed to meet revenue expectations in first quarter, aligned with HARMAN Professional Solutions to launch Voice-Enabled Cognitive Rooms. The tech firm’s Watson Internet of Things will use the artificial intelligence technology and microphones of HARMAN AKG besides JBL speakers and AMX AV control, as well as, switching systems.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) and HARMAN disclosed that the objective is to bring highly connected experiences to medical facilities, hotels, cruise ships, hospitality environments and corporate offices. The tech firm pointed out that HARMAN is part of its cognitive collaboratories of its $200 million Watson IoT international headquarters in Munich. The facilities will showcase the capacities of its in-room cognitive concierge through a conference room setting.

Similarly, both are working on the designs to put IoT into the enterprise customers’ hands. The current announcement is embedded into soundbars and alarm clocks of HARMAN with other type of factors being developed. That would enable users interact with natural language usage.

IBM’s Watson IoT GM for customer engagement and education, Harriet Green, commented, “The enterprise and entertainment market possibilities are massive, as IBM and HARMAN seek to connect people more intimately with their environments through cognition and natural language processing. The two companies indicated that voice-enabled cognitive rooms would be available during the middle of the current year to enterprise applications.

IBM is trading down 4.44 percent in pre-market trading after its revenue missed expectations.
