Tottenham are heading towards the right direction says Toby Alderweireld

Belgian star, Toby Alderweireld, has said that Tottenham is going in the right direction as they look to finish their ten year wait for silverware. Tottenham spurs have been Premier League title contenders since the last couple of years but have not been able to win the trophy. In an interview with Sky Sports, the Belgian star who is expected to make a comeback after his injury said that his team has been playing very well since the last couple of seasons. Adding further, Alderweireld said that Spurs have been in the top four teams every season which proves that the team is in the right direction. The team just needs to work a bit harder to get what it wants said Alderweireld.

Tottenham is unlikely to challenge for this year’s Premier League championship title as they are at least 20 points behind Manchester City. Nonetheless, the Spurs are still alive in the FA Cup and have a tough match with Juventus for a Champions League last 16 clash.

Currently, Alderweireld is in contact with Tottenham for a contract renewal. The Belgian star likes playing in Europe. He said that playing in champions’ league is a dream come true as all teams playing this championship are of high caliber. Playing with the highest level teams help young players to get more confidence.

This weekend Tottenham Spurs will play against Newport County in FA cup. It is less than a month when Spurs will play against their top opponents, Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in champions’ league.

Commenting on his team’s championship games against 4 major rivals, Alderweireld said that it is going to be a very tough month for Spurs but the team is ready. He also added that his team will focus on all games one by one and try to get 3 points in every match.

Tottenham’s key striker Harry Kane is also in the form of his life. The striker has scored 11 goals in his last 7 matches. Alderweireld is hoping that Kane can continue his form in the upcoming matches.
